Getting a teg!
Hey guys, hopefully this saturday i'm going to pick up this LS teg i have been looking at. The question i have is what kinda mods could i do to it to have be pretty quick. I plan on going with a turbo kit and i wanted to know if anyone sold like a kit for my motor.. Such as low compression pistsons, forged rods and crank.. The engine right now has 103k miles on it.. Think it will be alright with a rebuild? The turbo might not come for a lil while so what mods could i do to build up and work well with the turbo?
It's a 95 LS 5 speed, 2 door coupe, leather, sunroof and all that... 103k miles on it..I"m used to having a GT stang so i'm gonna be ithcin for power

I purchased my 97 LS with the same build strategy in mind...and I'm now simply saving up money for the turbo-kit and clutch upgrade.
As far as turbo kits go: If smog legality is a concern, I'd strongly recommend looking at the GReddy Bolt-On Kit. It has plenty of potential beyond it's conservative stock boost level of 7.5 psi. Other mfgrs that come to mind are Rev Hard, DRAG...I think Edelbrock is in the process of building a B-Series kit similar to their recent system for the D-series motors. Or you could just as easily buy a turbo manifold, one of the myriad T4/T3 hybrid turbos, and run an AEM or Hondata ECU for management, in concert with internal work as you've mentioned. In terms of parts availabilty, the sky is the limit.
The FI aftermarket is so huge for the DC2 / DC4 Integra...it's really a matter of determining how much power you can make reliably, given your budget. For me, I'm setting the limit at around 230whp. Any more than that would necessitate stronger halfshafts, serious internal work, and other chassis related expenses.
In terms of preparation and interim mods: I'd say get a set of light, strong 16" or 17" wheels and good quality tires first. Enjoy the fantastic balance and poise that the DC Integra is blessed with. Then progress on to aftermarket shocks and springs, together with upgraded brake pads.
Most of all, take the time to really enjoy the car before you go wild modding it IMHO. These are really fantastic cars, even in stock condition. You'll be very impressed with the handling, steering feedback, etc.

You can never go wrong with the basic bolt on's (I/H/E) and a High Flow cat, test pipe= no, no!
Get the Crower stage 2 cams (give like 17 hp) and those run about $350-$400
Once you turbo the car, then get LSD and good clutch to take advantage of that boost and all that power.

If the compression tests turn out good, how much boost do you think i could run on my 103k mile motor if any?? I know all engiens have their limits and i know that b series motors run for a hell of a long time.. I just need to find the limit of my motor

THe Greddy kit mentioned above is designed to use with stock motor. It is low boost, so it is okay. If you are wanting crazy power, you will need to pull it apart and and put lower comp pistons
welcome to the world of integras... what made you change from mustang gt to integra?
hopefully you enjoy yours as much as i have enjoyed mine - im on my third because unfortunately, i was too young and stupid to handle my first one - a 94 gs-r - rip :wtc:
my second one was a 90 LS, i bought it from a friend for 600 bucks with front end damage, ran it hard for about 8 or 9 months when i found my current car, a 94 LS... i couldnt be happier with these cars.
as for modding, im not really one to give advice because so far, i havent had the chance to modify mine but i do know that i would also like to build mine up and boost it, its just a matter of saving up the money to do so. in the meantime, i have an Apex'i WS exhaust which turned out to be money very well spent... it looks nice, sounds nice and feels nice as far as power gains go with exhausts.
my next step is suspension and brakes, then im going to start to toy with my engine.
oh, btw - i have 209k and my engine still runs very very strong. i wouldnt dare boost it without a rebuild because im not a moron but for just driving, i trust it very much (i would not hesitate to take it on an interstate vacation) and it still is very strong and responsive. take care of your integra and it will take care of you. :thumbup:
