Default I crashed my 2001 GS-R

I was driving on a curvey road and i lost control and side swiped a few trees and crashed into a big tree head on. Both of my air bags deployed and both sides of my car are scraped up. The front windshield is cracked and the front bumper cover is off split in half with the headlights still attached to them. The bumper is bent inwards and the hood is crumpled up also. I am able to start my car with no problems and am able to move it back and forth. I wanted to know what most likely is the insurance company going to do with the car? Are they going to total it or will they repair it. Thanks for your help.

Two years ago, with my 98 GS-R sedan, I was in a collision with a red-light runner. Messed up the entire front end, including both left and right front panels, but the car was still running, air bags not deployed, doors OK, no windshield crackage.

Total repair bill was between $10-12k.

You have a little more damage: air bags, windshield. Not sure if that would push you over the fix vs. totaled line, with a slightly newer 2001 GS-R.

Interestingly, at first I wanted my car to be totaled, so I could apply the money to a new car. Only cars I considered were the WRX and the Evo. I was really, really glad when I learned I would have my car back.

if the bags hadn't deployed, i'd say borderline chance of it being totalled. since they have, i'm thinking it will be. :happysad:

well basically let them get an estimate of the damages. If the repair totals like 80% of the car (not sure on the precentage) they will claim it as a total loss. You might not want to take it to a Acura dealer for repair estimates, they will charge alot so it will bring the repair cost high. Go to www.kbb.com and see what yr car is worth, then hope the repairs will be much less. With my teg the car value was $5500 and damages were over 10K. Remember just yr airbags are 2K total.

my 96 GSR had $6500 worth of damage back in october. got a new front end, suspension on the left side, and a new stock rim. airbags are expensive so it will probably be totaled

Sad as it is, I think that the car is totalled. You should find out how much they would charge you to buy the car back though, if you could part it out for more than they want on a buy back you should find the funds to do so. Good luck finding another Integra if that's what it comes down too.
