Default code 54

Ok where should i start oh yea i have 98 acura integra gsr and well i been having a misfire on my car. So i check the cel code and it was cel code 54. Now my car wont even start. I was thinking about changing the timing belt. Will that fix the problem?

First take off the timing cover & check your timing belt, check your cam timing. That's not very difficult. If your cam timing is OK, then look elsewhere for your problem.

Maybe ignition problems? Old plugs, wires, cap, rotor?

How did you check the code? Maybe a fuse blew when you checked it.

I believe code 54 has to do with either.

-Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor *Intermittent Interruption*

-Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor *No Signal*
(someone who knows more will correct me if I'm wrong)

I have no idea how to troubleshoot this code. Maybe you need to just replace a sensor.

Crank sensor is at the bottom, next to the pulley. Check to see if it got disconnected or damaged.
