Default Shift linkage

I was wondering if anyone had a creative way of getting the roll pin out of the shift linkage with limited room and without causing any damage. It would be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

i used a hammer and a small bolt that was laying around...make sure whatever you do you don't put something that goes inside the hole in the pin, it will make the hole bigger and even harder to get the pin out, that's just what i've heard. there's also "special" tools for this...but if you get the special tool for every possible thing you do then you're gonna be spendin a shit load of money.

That pin wasn't coming out for me, so I actually took the engine out of one car and into another with the shift linkage attached. h:
