Default CV Boot

Once I hear clicking sounds on my CV joint, do I need to do anything special besides cleaning the grease out and replacing the boot? (91 Integra RS w/ left side CV boot needing to be replaced)

If you can afford it, I always recommend replacing the entire axle. Once CV joints bust, it's very easy for dirt and debris to get inside. With it being so difficult to remove, $80 at your local AutoZone can net you a new axle covered with a life-time limited warrenty.

Would the noise itself go away after I repack the bearing?

I'm still debating on keeping the teg, so I'm not so sure I want to do that yet. Plus it's cold as heck in the garage right now...

If the boot's torn & grease is leaking, OK. But after you start hearing the clicking noise, that usually means the joint has some damage. So repacking the bearing usually just muffles the noise & the damage gets worse.

So is it a new axle or both axle and/or CV joint?

An axles is comprised of the shaft and inboard and outboard CV joints. All you need to ask for is an axle.
