Default GS-R vs. RS/LS/GS

Well yesterday I had a chance to drive my friend's 96 GS-R and to tell you the truth, I really can't feel any difference in power or anything between my LS and his GS-R.

The only thing that I did notice is the slight difference in gear ratio and yes his car did have a little better acceleration, but I'm starting to think that I made the good choice in buying the LS instead because I'm really starting to doubt GS-R.

For the huge difference in insurance cost and the fact that it drinks premium fuel, IMO I think the LS model is more worth it.

But here is your chance to prove me wrong, cuz I'm not a car expert.

Comments anyone?

Below 5K RPM, the cars are nearly identical acceleration-wise, with maybe a little nudge to the LS due to it's quicker reach of top torque, but from 5K to redline, the GS-R makes incredibly more power... but chances are you didn't want to stretch a friend's car to redline ...

Exact reason i went from my lovely 96 GSR to LS.

Everyone who thinks that the difference is worth the GAS and INS, is strait up wrong. Car and Driver got 15.7's with GS-R's and 16.0's with LS's. Thats nothing....

Plus i could feel the difference, the VTEC is nice, but its no major boost or anything, but it will surely rape an LS stock vs stock past 2nd gear.

Well, here's the thing... Car and Driver, ahem, cannot drive. It's not too uncommon to hear of stock GS-Rs breaking (slightly) into the 14s...

Regardless, you wont catch me willingly trading in my GS-R anytime soon

I thought the same thing when i first drove a GS R. My friends Ls was a torqe monster below 4k and thats the only teg i had driven. Once i got my Gs-R and took it up 4.4k i:eek3: i couldn't stand driving my friends anymore.

Yes, its difference, and GS-R's own, in fact i'd still rather have my GS-R, BUT, its still overplayed.

The difference is not enough to literally make you go "HOLY SHT THAT WAS THE FASTEST DIFFERENCE EVER"... its just a nice kick in the ass

you gotta experience it in the higher rpms, when u hear the sound of open vtec, you'll love the feel of the gsr, but if u have an ls theres always opportunity to rebuild the head, lsvtec, lsturbo etc.
