Default Side Moldings Question

If I remove my side moldings would there be any holes left on the door?

Do you mean your side skirts? and what kind of car do you have? I have a 2001 GSR and i had my side skirts painted, they took them off and it looked like i had a rail with a bunch of holes in it. I dont know if that helps you but thats my knowledge

mine is a 94-97 LS, probably the same. If the GS-R and the Type-R are the same chassis, how come the type-r has no rail looking holes?

Same chassis (With some slight modifications), but a slightly different sheet metal body...

If your side moldings are black, you might consider getting them painted. I had my stock side skirts and side moldings painted body color for $225, still looks good 1 year later.

You will have holes when you remove the bump strips. The best way is to get them welded to avoid them "dimpling" over time with bondo or some other element.

is there any adhesive on the strips? Because i believe i can paint them myself if I can remove them and put them back on without a problem. Since they are rubber, would I need to use primer?

i got side swapped in my old parking lot and it gouged out my rr 1/4 panel trim piece. i scuffed it up with scotch brite, cleaned with thinner, primed and painted and all good, you can get a way with just scuffing, cleaning and painting just fine, just make sure to clean/strip all wax etc... off before you spray
