Alternators being chewed up by sound system
I ordered a higher output alternator (150A).
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to why some guys can run their systems on the stock alternator and some can't.
Shortly after my year(1991), didn't they raise the amperage rating of the alternators?
Mine is a pitiful 65A I found out. Sure, that is enough to power the car but any "fun" stuff will need more juice.
I think the newer Integras are 90-100A?

I ran a total of 600 watts on my 92 prelude with teh stock alternator and no cap for 3 years and never had a problem. Now i have 560 (soon to be 1060 after I add the second Type E) and my lights only dim when i am at idle. I also get alternator wine (doesnt really apply but i thought i'd bitch about it anyway cause its really annoying)
