Default CAt question, CARSOUND

I was at a local parts store today, and I asked the guy if he could order me up a car sound cat. He told me that all car sound cats were universal, and that i would have to take it to a shop were thay could fit it.

I thought car sound cats were make/model specific.

can somone help?

I got a 95 teg RS (like the user name states ) and apexi WS cat back. I would prefer OEM fit, are there any other alternatives?

they come in different lengths. buy the correct length with appropriate o2 bungs and get the flanges welded on.

If you are willing to spend a little more money for something that will bolt right in, Landspeed Racing sells cats that are made from Carsound cats with all of the flanges, bungs, etc welded on. This one fits your '95 RS.

Hmm looks like ipsracing is a good bit cheaper than landspeed. Here's the direct link in case people can't find the Carsound section: http://www.ipsracing.com/engine/exha...sound_cat.html

You can buy the blank Carsounds (univeral fit) that are the right length for your car. I forget the exact model #.

Take the cat to your local muffler shop, and have them weld the flanges/02 bung(s) on and youre set.

I have one for sale as well, 2.5" SMSP Carsound.
