if i got a skunk2 intake manifold for my gsr and matched it with a similar tb say like 68 mm - 70mm.What would be the ideal intake for that setup? Would a type R CAI work better since it is bigger diameter?Or is it same as a gsr?

p.s isnt the comptech icebox and intake just like the stock intake system but with a cone filter?Is it really worth all that or could i just open my stock intake up run a little pipe from it into my stock airbox then connect a cone filter and it be just as good?

 

The Comptech Icebox is NOT like the stock intake system. Where as your OEM system utilizes a resonator and routes air in from closer to the top of the engine bay, the Icebox utilizes a direct tube angled down and then forwards to pull colder, more denser air from the bottom of your engine bay. I'd definitely recommend Comptech's Icebox, or if there is an application for the Skunk2 manifold, J's Racing Intake.
