Default E-brake light stays on....

Hello all,

My E-brake light stays on after the brake handle is lowered. It usually goes out after driving a while. The e-brake does disengage, the light just stays on.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Scott

Check the level of your brake fluid, if it is slightly low you will get those symptoms

The Brake light is due to either low brake fluid, or you need to change the pads.

As far as the maintenance light goes. Go under the dash, on the right hand side, just above where your right knee would be, there is a small box with a beige button. Just hold down that button while turning the ignition on, and this will turn the light off.

My fluid wasn't low, and nothing was wrong. I simply took the dipstick that goes into the brake resevoir and turned it upside down a few times so oil ran all over it. Hasn't ben on since .
