How to clean IACV...
Just as the title says...once i take off the IACV how do i clean it up? What to do and what not to do when cleaning? I found one locally for 50$ but i wanna see if it just needs a good cleaning, or if i need go to out and buy a new one.
Thanks -Jason |

Just clean the little screen over the ports. Not much else you can do.

BRAKE CLEANER!!!

Can't you spray throttlebody cleaner into it, shake it around, pour it out?
|
Sure, you can spray some carb cleaner in there and let it drain.
Why do you think it needs to be cleaned? |

Its probably your fast idle thermo valve.
You can test it...pull off the intake, cover the lower left hole on the inside of the TB while the car is idling funny...if the motor sputters down to a low idle and stops surging, its the FITV. It is located on the bottom of your TB. 3 10mm screws. Remove it, cover the top part in duct tape/vinyl (something that wont melt) and pop it back on. I bet your idle goes back to normal. Is the idle stable once the car warms up? |
