Default Weird Idle...Help plz?

Well this morning all of a sudden my car started to idle funny...hummm
Ill let the car warm up and what not and the RPMs jump from like 1k to 2k on and off on and off on and off...i dunno why? It never settles to 900rpms like it used to just idle fine at until today? Anybody know what this could be from?

Thanks
-Jason

Wasnt to bad...a few days before it was colder, and i would have expected this. But it was around 70 this morning so i didnt think anything of it. But never the less i been driving the car all day and its been doing the same thing. Even when the car is rather warm. So what could be the problem?

If it continues, check for:

Vacuum leaks
Idle adjustment screw
IAC valve

This happened in my Lude. It was the Air Idle Control Valve aka Idle Air Control valve. or as dubster said the IAC Valve The other two he mentioned are a possibility. Hope its a vaccuum leak. IAC's can be a little on the pricey side especially after you add labor. I had to cause i had no idea how to take mine off.

most likely IAC valve. They are one of the most faulty pieces on a Honda motor. My friend's old 92 Prelude went through 2 OEM IAC valves in 2 years. Luckily mine hasn't gone yet (160K miles)....but i clean it every 6 months.

isnt 900 rpm a bit high for a regular idle though?
