Default AEM CAI sound...

My friend and I just installed my AEM CAI into my GSR two days ago (saturday). I was expecting a deep sound from the engine; if I rev the engine from 0-3500 rpms, the engine sounds pretty much stock, but is considerably louder at higher rpms. At higher rpms it sounds sweet but I was expecting the sound to be deeper throughout...any ideas, suggestions, feedback..

Looking to purchase JDM 4-1 header soon, should there be any sound difference there?

Are you buying parts for performance or sound?

both Just wondering because the friend who helped me install the intake also installed an AEM CAI on his accord v6 coupe; immediate difference in sound right off the bat as soon as he touched the accelerator. Just wanted to make get feedback from everyone else...

The AEM intake isnt really known for its agresive sound or anything...if You want a mean sounding intake , with similiar performance gains to the AEM , get the INJEN CAI

That happened probably because his accord was V6. That will make a difference in the sound. The engine has a bigger displacement and therefore will have a deeper sound.

Another CAI that makes a mean sound is the Ractive intakes with the heat shields.

I love the subtle whistle sound... It's not deep or throaty at all, which is what you'd get from H/E.
