It's only deep when you are getting on it. Otherwise it just wistles. If you wanted a loud sound get the short ram. They are louder. And it just makes since that a v6 is going to be louder than a 4cyl. Anyway, preformance is more important that looks and sound anyway.

My short ram RS Akimoto is loud as hell above 3K (its a whiney whistling sound)...I can hear it over the radio. I definately want to upgrade to a CAI sometime.

When I had just the AEM CAI on my 2000 Integra I had the same result, stock up until higher rpms, thats how it's supposed to be. I'm happy because I wasn't going for sound but performance.

Quick question...for the filter part of the intake, should it be covered up underneath from underneath the bumper or should that part be removed?

If you are referring to the splashguards underneath, then I highly suggest you keep them on. Unless of course, you like hydrolocking your engine.

Everyonr keeps on talking about performance, performance, performance........but you DONT necessarily have to trade sound for performance...there are several intakes on the market that are comparable to AEM in power, but make a much more aggressive sound.

I love the way my AEM sounds. I think it's perfectly matched, considering it's a high-revving 4-banger. I haven't had anyone complain that it's not aggressive or deep enough. But the best part is, by far, that low-level whistle at part throttle...

When my friend had an AEM installed on his 2000 Celica GTS, it immediately sounded meaner. It just sounded really nice when you step on the gas. So because of that my friend and I decided to get an AEM CAI installed on our GSR's. Boy, were we disappointed. Almost zero difference in sound level. Only during high RPM's do you hear anything. I sure hope there is an hp increase because the butt dyno feels nothing.

Oh, once you get a header you start hearing the secondary runners very distinctly from VTEC. Now that sounds sweet, but not very deep from my 4-2-1.
