check engine light question
my check engine light has been on for the past 25,000 miles or so car runs fine cept that i am only getting around 280 miles to the tank and smoke billows out of my exaust only when im under full throttle and yea the emmisions level here is 136 and we got 136 so barlly passed andyone knows what this is
check engine light could be caused by a million things, as could the smoke from your exhaust. you need to be much more specific when you describe problems, because we do want to help you fix them!
another thing to keep in mind is when your check engine light is on, your ECU automatically goes into "limp" mode where the ECU sends more fuel than necessary to prevent knocking and protect the motor. best thing to do is trip the diagnostic plug to see exactly what's going on.
and you left it on for 25,000 miles :eek3: and the smog tech let you slide. focking california crap
