Default post your compression test results here!!!

i'd like to know some of your results and from what year, model, milage, and pistons cause i don't think mine came out correctly..

i'll start,

year: 1996

model: gsr with USDM ITR pistons

milage: not even 2,000

results: about 180-190 across :eh: i thought it would be higher cause my compression is around 10.9: 1

Shouldn't you be sitting at 210+?

At least they were all at the same rate... that's good!

i dont have my timing retarted or compression changed... thats just the results i got when i did it..
im gettin my engine bored out to like 1.9L.. gettin bigger pistons and all that junk.. so for those ppl that are gonna tell me to get new piston rings.... i'll get em later :P

that's exactly what i thought.. :dunno:

i wonder if my compression tester had anything to do with it because i did it by myself with the tester laying on the block.

That shouldn't be a problem though... meybe you can borrow a friends?

If two testers give you identical numbers, it might be a good idea to check your valves maybe?

Oh... and I'll do a compression test on my stock-internals GS-R tomorrow... I'm ramping up for halloween right now :-D

oh, i just called Comptech and asked them about the lack of compression. they said your pressure will vary depending on the temperature of the block.

i remember doing the compression check from a cold start after leaving my car overnight. i'll try to do it again with a warm car..
