gauges noise?
Gauges making noise?!?! :eek3: It seems like it. I'm pretty sure, but I'll ask anyway.... gauges have gears in them right?
I'm thinking mine need to be lubed up or something... or maybe ones loose or not working right... I swear when I was on the highway tonight I heard what sounded like a gear slipping and the speedometer jumped about 5mph in 1/2sec but I didn't actually change speed?!?
Is there any easy way to get back there on a 2nd gen and spray in some good lube? What am I saying... I can't open those up can I?

It's not extremely easy but I have done it before. You basically have to take off the plastic bezel cover (pretty easy) and take off the instrument cluster (a little hard to reach behind and get the cables off) lube it up and put it back on. The hard part is putting it back on. You'll probably want to unhook the speedo cable from the tranny to get some slack to put it back on. Then hook it back to the tranny after you hook it back on the cluster side.
