How to beat SS camaro
I am just curious as to what I would have to get done in order to hold or beat an SS camaro. I do have knowledge of imports and hybrids, but I just would like more experienced advise.
So heres the deal. I have a fully stripped EG Civic Hatch. The only thing left in my car is the seat and dash. I have a swapped 95 GSR integra motor/trans and a JUN chipped ecu. The motor is completely stock. What would I have to add in order to take vette's and those beefy domestics. I am trying to avoid forced induction and I am not even considering nitrous.
The setup I was thinking of doing was as follows:
DC sports 4-1 headers
JUN stage 2 camshafts
JUN retainers
JUN valve springs
Port & Polish
3-angle Valve Job
Let me know what you think...
thnx

if you are a good driver you can prolly give a bad driver in the SS a run for his money(that is if you hook up). other then that a small/medium sized shot of nitrous, turbo kit, n/a engine buildup, ect..will all do the job.
Beating an SS is relatively easy and can be done with any Civic. While the SS driver is showing off his engine, simply remove one or two plug wires from their terminals when he/she isn't looking. That should even things up nicely.
*I do not, in any way, advocate the above actions in a real world situation. Keep your hands off of other people's stuff!!

I was trying to get an insight on motor building actually. I don't need smart ass comments. If you don't know what it takes, then just don't respond. I already stated in my first post that I will not go forced induction. I simply would like to know what type of all motor setup I would have to have in order to beat beefier v8's. Not specific to the SS, but that is one of them.:madfawk:
5th gen hatch+H22A+minor mods(I/H/E) and some traction should do it.
5th Gen w/ B20/VTEC(built) would definately do it(I saw a 5th gen coupe take a W5.6 in a drag race and beat him by two cars) The coupe was N/A, no N2O or turbo.

Either ITR pistons with forged rods or 11.5/12.0 compression pistons, Stage 2 cams(Jun or SKunk2 would be good) dual spring lifters(ITR or stronger), titanium retainers, Port and Polish, Skunk 2 IM, ITR(preferably JDM) tranny, some stronger axles(cause you will end up breaking them)
With this set up you should be able to do it.

you want one that will beat em you need to ahve a shop that builds NA engines work on it....to solidly take an SS i would say you need to run a 12.8 or faster....after all they can hit that fast with minor mods. a guy down her ein houston runs around 12 flat on a b20vtec. he wouldnt give too many details...lots of little tricks but i do know he is putting down around 225hp to the ground...all i knoiw is b20 block, 13:1 or so compression...cams, b16a head with some head work...
