Bad Sulpher smell
Help... I've had a persistent bad sulpher odor from day 1 of my RSX. First, the dealer told me it was bad gas, then it was the catalytic converter needs to be broken in. Well, it''s now been 18 months and 23000 miles, and it seems worse. it's so bad, My daughter now refuses to ride in the car with me. Acura Customer service now says that's the way it is, and the dealer all but refuses to work with me. Any suggestions now. I'm ready to start a picket line at the dealer to advise all their customers that the RSX sucks....i mean STINKS!! ANd this isn't the only issue.. first the transmission fluid leaked, then I had a bad solenoid, I've got the persistent stink, and now I just filed a warranty claim for bad leather seats...
yeah dude thats not normal. sound like you got a lemon and the dealership should be handling all of this. if i were you id set up a meeting with the owner of the dealership and explain to him that his employees are dicking you around. if youve tried this already id look to find someone at acura headquarters and file a claim on the dealership.
sometimes I think my car poops but.... Yeah, that cat. is pretty smelly sometimes. It isn't just on rsx's it is on all cars. For some reason you notice it more in the rsx. Anyway, don't worry about it.
It smells like burining plastic, right???
I have had that from like 9000 miles. With me it was the higher and more I revved it, the more it smelled. It seemed to have gone away for now, but it was annoying. I looked one time and saw clear gas coming out of the cat. I was thinking it was a ****ed up cat since my car was so low, but it wasnt. Im still confused.
Maybe I should take out the cat and run a straight pipe.

I encountered the same problem of smelling sulpher/rotten eggs in my new Accord. After reading this website, I brought the car into Honda dealer and they replaced the catalytic converter at no charge. I have not smelled the sulpher smell since.
Perhaps more importantly, the engine is running better! Previously when I tried to accelerate quickly, there was a "lag" for about a half second after depressing the gas pedal in which the car would hesitate before accelerating. After replacing the cat, the response time is much quicker and that sickening lag is gone!

If you have the sulpher/rotten egg smell most of the time it means the cat is bad. They weird thing on ur case it should have been a new one. You might have gotten a lemon Cat Convertor. Keep fighting, and i would say go tell the Dealer that you will picket, most of the time they will work with you, b/c they dont want the bad publicity.

Do you consistently buy gas from the same station? If so try switching brands it may take a couple of tanks to clear it out.
