DA auto to manual swap
I just got an email from a guy asking if I'd like to help him swap a first gen B16A into a '91 LS. His LS is an automatic. I've done a few swaps in '92+ Civic's with '94+ Integra motors, but I'm not familiar with what's involved in the older generations. I was wondering if anybody has tried this before and had any advice. Specifically, are any of the mounts different (92+ Civic's need a new upper tranny mount), any major wiring issues (basically, is there a seperate ECU for the auto that will need to be disabled). A parts list would be nice. I'm assuing I'll need:
Tranny
New pedal assembly
Clutch cable and all associated brackets
Linkage
Clutch/pressure plate and flywheel
Interior console
Gauge cluster (opt)
He's wants a first gen B16A so I'll have a manual computer and maybe shfit linkage, if it's compatible. Anybody has any input, I'd apprecaite it, thanks. Seeya.

You know, those crazy Japanese did have G2 Integras with B16A engines coupled to automatic transaxles...
The swap should work very similarly to a 3G auto to manual conversion, and yes, the transaxle mount is different. Ideally, a new mount should be purchased from the dealer and welded in.

Thanks for the reply. I know there are automatic B16A's but the guy wants to convert to manual.
Are the mounts different in the 2nd gen chassis? I'm trying to locate a parts car to compare and strip but I haven't found one yet.
