Is this a good deal, or should I save my money?
Hey there.. first post
Anyways, here's my setup: 94 GS-R w/ 132K mi, AEM short ram (rains like a bitch where I go to school), DC 4-2-1 header, Random Tech cat, and GReddy Evo exhaust. Anyways, I've been debating going FI, but the number of miles on my engine, I would probably have to do a rebuild ( New cams, retainers, head gasket etc... Maybe port out to 1.9/2L?) before I do anything major like FI. Anyways, a dealer I usually get really good prices from has offered me a good deal on a used, but good condition, JRSC for my GS-R. He wants $1,500 for it, and he will include a new belt kit and tensioner pully w/ it. Is this a good enough deal that I should jump on it and worry about the CC payments later, or should I sit and think about my options more (Either a GReddy turbo or a really nice all-motor build... I want to stay CA legal). I'm on a bit of a budget since both my radiator and my cat went out on the same ****in weekend, so my CC will be hurting for a really long time.
Opinions/suggestions?

It depends on how much power you want from your car, and what you plan to do. JRSC on a GSR will pull decent power, but not as much as a Turbo w/ an intercooler. I've seen used JRSC from $1700-$2400. It'd be more difficult to upgrade if you want more boost. ... I'd get the cat and radiator fixed first
True true... that's why they're both already done
Damn, though... both of them majorly bruised my account and put me a bit in the negative until next paycheck.
Anyways, yeah... my goals... I'm looking for a spirited and reliable car that will handle occasional auto-x events, and gets good milage (I put at least 1.5K miles a month on this car). Not really looking for a street-racing option because... well... there will always be people willing to spend more money on their car than I, and I think a lot of the people in the street-racing scene (at least in my home town) are way too damn creepy about it.
So yeah... I want a spirited driver that will let me tear into the road every once in a while. Within this, is it a good deal?

I think the GSR JRSC will put down 180~190WHP? I remember reading that an ITR w/ JRSC put down ~210whp... JRSC would be pretty good for auto-x'ing since you get a decent mid range torqe. So its passable for a daily driver.... I don't think I would drop $1500 down and then have other components breakdown... the car has 132k, so I'd be more concern building up internals first.
