How difficult is it to swap an automatic car to a manual transmission if you are already hybridding it?
I have a 98 GSR carcass, complete, manual obviously, and am purchasing an EG hatch or coupe to swap brakes, engine, interior, and all that crap. Would it be possible to use the clutch cylinders and crap from the GSR?
I'm looking for a manual in my area but unfortunately they are in very short supply.

I'm doing the same thing to my car right now. I have a 94 civic hatchback dx automatic and i'm putting in a 95 gsr motor. I'm not sure if you can use the clutch cylinder and other parts from the gsr. I bought all the parts from a civic instead. Today is day two of the project and the biggest part is cutting and welding on the manual tranny bracket because the manual bracket sticks at a 90 degree angle instead of a 45 degree angle. Bakeoff, a member on this board, has done a couple of these auto to manual swap and he didn't even cut and weld, he just bolted on a metal plate to adjust the shift linkage, but he never got pics for me so i didn't know what he did. Other than that, it doesn't seem that hard if you have all the proper parts. I will tell you how it goes and what you need to look for.
Auto to maual conversion are easy on EG's. There is only one real difference. The side tranny mount on the passenger side. The mount is at an angle on the frame for the automatic chassis. On manual cars from the factory the mount is flat. This requires you to either make a custom mount or buy the place racing mount for like $120. The place racing mount works well, and it's polyurethane, no rubber.
All the metal lines from the clutch master cylinder will go to the slave master cylinder, and they all bolt up no problem, the holes are already there to bolt them down with. Just pick the master cylinder and lines from the junk yard, and yes the integra lines bolt right up. Clutch slave cylinder should come with your swap.
The pedal set needs to be swapped out. You can use Integra pedals I think, if not use the civic ones. The holes for the shifter, is there, you just need to bolt it up. You may not have the nuts on the frame, but a simple nut and bolt combo will do the trick no problem.
When you remove the automatic shifter there is another box next to it. I don't remember much about the box, but I think it allows the car to start cause it says it's in neutral or park or whatever. We wound up keeping the box. It actually makes a nice little safey feature cause if you unplug the box and take it with you. If it's not there the car won't start. Kinda cool, but annoying at the same time.
Um... when you do the swap the reverse lights wont' work so you'll need to wire those up also.
Cool feature about doing the conversion, you bypass the clutch already so you can start your car without having to push the clutch in, and if you like remote start just wire it up and go. Not the biggest deal, but bypassing the clutch is a little annoying if you want the remote start feature on an alarm.
