Default another HID question

Okay guys, I know the HID question has been asked billions of times but I am having a hard time getting a definite answer. I did the search and all and still am a little confused. I drive a 97 accord. What will give me the brightest bluest HID light output? I don't mean like hardcore neon blue, I mean like that bright white with the bluish tint. I don't care how much bulbs are or what kit I have to buy, what will be the brightest bluish HID in your opinions. thanks in advance for any help you guys can give!!!!:dunno:  :booty:

For my 5th gen I'm using a 6000k Osram/Phillips retro kit and the color is S2000 when you look at it directly and a white with a blue tinge. I don't think its very bright. It is significantly better than halogen, but I sorta wish it was brighter.

yeah me too
6000K Osram bulbs / Philips ballasts.

Do a retrofit with OEM projector if you have more money though hehehee...
so it depends on your budget.

Try McCulloch HID, check out their color at their site. I think its bluish.

6000K Philips / Philips will be more purplish I believe.

good luck.

How did u get a 6000k osram bulb? To my knowledge Osram doesn't manufacture a 6000k bulb. they manufacture a 5400K D1 bulb, but its pretty different from a D2 type bulb that most of us use.

sorry to tell u this, but he lied to you. This is exactly the reason I posted the disclaimer with my video I shot. I dont want some shady company saying that their bulbs can deliever the kind of lighting I have from their "HID Kits". As for the McCulloch kits, there's no way it'll produce oem beam pattern. It'll have glare, it'll have hotspots, it'll have all the stuff that normal "HID Kit's" give u, but it's a much better kit overall.

The absolute brightest you can and should get, is 4100k or 4300k (not sure which one it is...) This is what the bulbs on cars with factory HID are rated at. Some people have said, the only reason they look blue on vehicles like BMW and Audi, is because of the projector lens, and this is true. Otherwise the light is pure white, as you'll see on Lexus or Acura, but the bulb rating is exactly the same. The higher the color temperature you go, the less actual light output you'll have, though the light will be bluer. I recall driving on 101 in the early morning once (still very dark), and a Civic was coming up on me. I knew he had a HID kit, because of the amount of glare coming from his headlights. And the shade of blue was roughly that of an 8000k kit. When this guy passed me, it took me a second to realize my Osram Silverstar halogens were BRIGHTER than his HID kit. If you're going to spend hundreds on a kit...then make sure it will have actual usable light. Don't just do it for looks, it's not worth it.

The BEST way to do it, since you seem to want the best is to implant OEM xenon projectors. In my opinion, the best I have seen and driven behind are the Honda S2000 projectors. Buy a set of S2k lamps, remove the projectors and get them implanted in your headlamps. Use 4100K Philips D2S bulbs.

Bright white light on the ground and very visually attactive blue/purple cutoff band for everyone else to see. Great PERFORMANCE - AND - serious BLING.

You will get multiple different opinions, but thats mine. If you want the BEST, use the BEST equipment.
