Default Connecting the antena wire from the amp to the ignition switch ok?

I was wanting to know if by doing this would it harm anything cause the Ex Civic has no power antenna and im still using the stock radio. Also what wire behind the dash is the ignition wire that I must find to connect to and if there is a simular wire for the same task then please tell me thanks.

You can do that with no problem. You can actually tap into the acc line to the stock head unit. That would be the easiest place to go. Otherwise you need a color and wiring diagram to find the ignition acc line under the steering column, which I don't know off hand.

I think he means the remote turn on (half amp blue line trigger). If not then that must be a freaky amp.

it's an installer trick. if you can't find the remote wire on a stock hu, you use the power antenna out to the amp. it works the same.

I would love to find out who told you THIS little trick. Do you realize that when you do that, the antenna has to be up for the amp to turn on? So if the radio is on tuner, it works, but won't for CD/CD Changer. Go try again rookie...now THAT'S an installer trick, DON"T DO IT THIS WAY!!!

O.K., I think some of you are getting confused..... let's straighten this out. Some aftermarket radios have two blue line remote outputs: antenna, which triggers only when tuner is selected, and amplifier, which is on whenever the headunit is turned on to any function. Most aftermarket and factory head units have only one output, and I think DarkInfluence was refering to this. Some people refer to it as an antenna output, because in the old days, before power amps in cars were popular (not trying to date myself) the only remote trigger a radio would have would be the power antenna.

exactly my point. You hook it up to that these days, it will only turn on the amp when the radio is on tuner. Guess you're a huge fan of FM.
