Default who makes the best Cams for GsR?

  1. who makes the best Cams for a 98 Integra GSR b18c1? I would like to make 9's easy 1/8 mile drag strip. I am averaging about 00:10:50. But i also want to keep my car reliable. Because it is my daily driver to. Also which ones are more versatile, durable, and best fit mechined quality incase I want to try circuit.
  2. Which Hondata plug in s100, s200, or, S300? Is it worth the trouble even though I only have intake, cat exhaust, and after cams & cam gears are installed.

how much power do you want to make? where in the powerband do you want it? how much do you want to spend? most aftermarket cams require upgraded valvetrain, increased compression, and an increased rev limit to take full advantage of them. have you taken this into consideration? if you dont want to bother with all this, you can go with 00-01 itr or ctr cams and retain the stock valvetrain if you'll be sticking with the stock rev limit.

with internal work it is a good idea to get something to tune with so you dont fudge something up.

Well, I guess I really want know is what to look for in cam? All I really understand about them is that they open intake and fuel valve for longer. As far as power goes, I just want to gain enough so I can feel it. So, I guess that would be around +15hp.
I kind of feel like the stock torque is alittle weak. But I worry about changing the torque to much, becuase that may be the reason Hondas motors are so reliable. I thinking that Honda's conservative torque output are more reliable because there not twisting cams and/or crankshafts on high rpm take offs.
Is that right, or am I completely wrong.

Intake and exhaust valve, not fuel valve.

If you want torque, you need to look into forced induction.

Torque output really doesn't have much to do with reliability. The reason they are very reliable is they are highly efficient engines with very strict tolerances and quality parts.

i suggest you look at the buddy club spec III+ with matching valvetrain then. makes decent mid range torque and top end. plus you dont need to rev the piss out of them to make power.

I heard Honda and other japanese car manufacturers us a stronger steel alloy on there engines than the rest of the world.

Default Cams

in my opinion for a daily driveable and reliable n/a car honda makes the best. you said you have a b18c so you would use the ctr intake cam and the itr exhaust cam with intake valve springs from a b18c on the exhaust cam. these cams will give you noticiable improvement with low cost. well all cams are expensive but cheaper than most and reliable.
