how much power do you want to make? where in the powerband do you want it? how much do you want to spend? most aftermarket cams require upgraded valvetrain, increased compression, and an increased rev limit to take full advantage of them. have you taken this into consideration? if you dont want to bother with all this, you can go with 00-01 itr or ctr cams and retain the stock valvetrain if you'll be sticking with the stock rev limit.
with internal work it is a good idea to get something to tune with so you dont fudge something up.
Well, I guess I really want know is what to look for in cam? All I really understand about them is that they open intake and fuel valve for longer. As far as power goes, I just want to gain enough so I can feel it. So, I guess that would be around +15hp.
I kind of feel like the stock torque is alittle weak. But I worry about changing the torque to much, becuase that may be the reason Hondas motors are so reliable. I thinking that Honda's conservative torque output are more reliable because there not twisting cams and/or crankshafts on high rpm take offs.
Is that right, or am I completely wrong.
