Default The eject on my head unit is messed up

If I hit eject on my head unit, it will slide down but won't seem to go down all the way. I have to help it out and muscle it down the rest of the way. I can't tell if it needs wd40 (or other lubricant?) in the joints somewhere, it is a pretty old head unit (it's from the sony mini-disc days).

It has nothing to do with the faceplate, I'm able to induce the eject without it.

Sounds like the ejector is failing. If thats the case you have 3 options that I know of, 1 you can open up the deck and resolder the ejector points ( this was done to my kenwood last year for free from where I bought it.) 2 Go get a new deck or 3 jsut deal with it.

it doesn't "feel" like the ejector is failing. i can still hear all the gears inside working and trying hard to push the faceplate downwards.

what is the point of posting this? head units these days are cheap so why dont you go out and buy one instead of trying to fix a headunit from 1980! u cheapo!

Default Failing ejectors

Use the coding form to code the wording of the exception page for the TOD field export and you should be all set. plmk.
