Aren't those kinds of headers dangerous, because they're chrome? I imagine they don't hold heat very well, and will make the engine run hotter?
Eventaully making them break?

Bad shoes hurt your back, so won't cheap headers disrespect your motor the same way?

Ten dollar part ehh. lol I wouldn't put it on a lawn mower, it like buying a nice gun you wouldn't spend a 1k on a 1911 and then put it in a nylon holster would ya? I would think if its a 91 engine u have and the part is for 92-95 it probably wont fit. I may be wrong though. I would search for the header that matches the engine not the year of the car.

What the hell are you talking about?

Personally, I wouldn't trust a $10 header. :lmfao:

Yeah... I wouldn't trust one either. I see them failing on you.

I'v never seen a chrome header break i'v seen them turn black really fast though. i'm interested in your theory of the engine running hotter though. I'v had a chrome header on my 97 civic for about 5 years now and seen no overheating problems, infact the needle only moves when warming up and thats just to the normal operating temp. of course I got a DC Sports on it, and it cost me more the 10.

I was told that it was frowned upon to have powder coated headers because they retain heat so well. Heat has to go somewhere, so it makes the block hotter. I thought that chrome headers would get so hot and not be able to take the heat as well as stock or a better made header, that the heat would find it's way back to the block. There is a reason why they are so cheap. Whether or not I'm right, I know there is something wrong with a $10 header.

I agree a ten dollar header would suck, The metal would be worth more than the header plus time for mandrel bending.

ok let's clear this up, the header has nothing to do with the engine overheating.
