I was told that it was frowned upon to have powder coated headers because they retain heat so well. Heat has to go somewhere, so it makes the block hotter. I thought that chrome headers would get so hot and not be able to take the heat as well as stock or a better made header, that the heat would find it's way back to the block. There is a reason why they are so cheap. Whether or not I'm right, I know there is something wrong with a $10 header.
