Default Alpine Head Units: 7998 abd 7897 and 7893

Ok im about to go get a new head unit so my subs and amp will sound a lot better... Im stuck on which kind of head unit to get though. I like the silver face cause it will look tight in my ride but Im also wondering about the options.... Does the MP3 option really matter? And what is up with the new 7998 and 7897 models? Any one with some experience in this, please help a brotha out!

MP3 capability would kick arse!! Just think about it. You could toss your cd case/holder and have just about everything one 3-4 cd's. As for the decks, if you like the silver look, then get the CDA-7995. It can play mp3's. It doesn't have a built-in amp, so you need external amps. But if you're willing to buy this kind of deck, you should be using on-board power anyway.

Do you understand the Alpine model #'s. The 79## have no on-board amp. The 78## have built-in power.

The other 2 decks you mentioned are the 1.5 din-sized faces, that retract into the deck when you turn it off. If you have the flow and don't mind not being able to detach the face, then go fior these. I think they're cool, but too pricey for me.

Either way, you're on the right track by going for an Alpine deck!!!

the 7995 is a 7894 without an internal amp and a silver face... save a few bucks and get the 7894... IF MP3's are a concern of yours... if not, get the 7893... the 93 and 94 both have a "switch" for the internal amp... making the 7995 pointless.

If you have the $$, get the 7897... that deck is SWEET! The large face really makes a huge difference.
