Default Axle Nut

Im putting powerslot slotted rotors on the front. I have a 1995 Civic EX. Will i NEED impact wrench or can i use one hell of a breaker bar to get it loose. Also, what is the recommended torque for the axle nut?

You shouldn't have to remove the axle nut to remove the rotors. They are only held on by the lug nuts and a couple of pain in the ass to remove phillips screws. If you have to take the axle nuts off for some other reason a breaker bar should be enough. I'm not sure about the torque.

What you might possibly need is an impact screw driver if the 2 philipps screws wont come off. Also don't forget to use anti-seize when bolting stuff back on. Good luck man. Let me know how the brakes work.

when I got those screws out the first time, I threw them away. They are only there to keep the rotor from flopping when the wheel is off. The wheel holds the rotors firmly in place.

The hub nut is 134lbs I think. But, as above, you don't need to remove them.

Impact driver worked on mine after being on there for about 10yrs. in a northern climate. The impact driver is a good tool with other uses. I'd recommend keeping the screws or getting new ones. The screws also keep the rotors precisely centered. The lugnuts might keep it centered but it might still be off a tad. Good luck.

Make sure you get a good impact driver. My $30 (270 ft/lbs) one won't always do it. I wish I would've just got the 500 ft/lbs (or more) one when I was getting one.

and its fine that you did that...they are actually 99% in there for when the car is being produced..the two screws makes sure the rotors dont come off as they are moving through the build process....
