Default ECU Made my car overheat!!!

I've also posted this same problem in the civic/del sol/el forum.

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=199815

Ok, so heres the rundown.
-1992 Honda Civic DX sedan w/ D16Z6 swap
-Been running p06 ecu on engine since November(lack of knoweledge of car vtec)
-Recently purchased ecu off of ebay---> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1
-Plugged up p28, check engine light pops up (uh oh)
-Drive on the p28 for about 20-25 mins
-Before exiting car, I notice heat meter is on the H!!!
-Plug p06 back up, car runs fine(no vtec) but no overheating problems
-CEL check reads code 21 (vtec spool solenoid valve) [attached thumbnails]
-Need plug for solenoid, and wire to ecu for working vtec
-But the question remains...Why did my car overheat???

Why?

Thumbnails may or may not help.

Most likely the reason your car overheated, given your particular situation, where it only overheated as soon as u put new ECU in...is prob because of the ECU's fuel curves and more importantly the ignition timing. If u ran P28 on a D16Z6, then it should be ok, but maybe the ignition timing is set incorrectly (distributor), and when u try and use the P28 with VTEC, it changes the timing, for worse, making the engine overheat...
Plus I'm not sure how good it is to run a P06 with a D16Z6 motor... Can't say that damage was done, but I'm unsure...
Did u try and put in P28 again and see if it overheated??
is it ONLY when the P28 is in, that it overheats??

Actually I drove home from work the other day with the p06 in and noticed my car overheating. It was about 3/4's the way up and slowly rising and my place of employment is only about 7 minutes away. So I dont know if plugging up the p28 caused something to short out, or whatever, but my car ran fine before I plugged up the p28 for the first time.

If the p28 changes the fuel curve so much, then what should I do to be able to run the p28?

Also, what could be causing my car to overheat after I plugged up the p28?

www.slowmotionmotorsposrts.com <== columbus shop you might want to check out

You might need to upgrade the radiator. Also, consider how hot is it outside.
