If anyone has done this themselves is it a simple job to DIY?
Is the installation simple to follow meaning disonnect both ends and just reconnect the new lines?
Do I need to bleed the brakes?

I've never done this so detailed help is appreciated.

Yes, you need to bleed the brakes. All you have to do is swap the new ones in. It shouldn't be too hard to install them yourself, you just need to be quick when swapping them because the fluid will continue to leak until you have them connected again.
