depends on what you mean by intelligent.

do you mean education wise? I have several friends getting their PhD in various fields. One is at MIT getting on in bio.chem. Another one in Boston College getting one in Philosophy.

Both can talk for days about each others fields and leave me

Yes I do h:
My old roommate in college was a philosophy major and posed the question, "would you rather be smart or beautiful?" My answer was I'd rather be beautiful because then you could be hot and get treated better (because it's true) and not realize you're dumb anyway. If you're smart and ugly, well, you know what the deal is :happysad:

Intelligence is relative, though...

See that the thing I am talking intelligent as in :"Showing sound judgment and rationality: an intelligent decision; an intelligent solution to the problem"
I think your more thinking of knwledge, in my opinion someone can have great knowledge on one subject but not be intelligent!

I think you're speaking more of common sense rather than intelligence.

intelligent people are intelligent enough to know that, compared to the common person they may be above average, but also that there is so much that they don't know.

like others said your talking about common sense. but there is nothing preventing people from having common sense and book/learned knowledge.
