Default ABS plastic quality?

Anyone have a front lip that is made of ABS plastic? How is the quality? Does it crack like fiberglass? Any problems with it? Also are OEM 96-00 Civic side skirts ABS plastic? If not what material is it made out of?

the abs plastic the replica kits are made out of is like more brittle than your side skirts. your side skirts are a plastic/eurethane blend. they're alot more flexible.

if you could imagine purposefully bending the hell out of your side skirt it would bend and leave a warp in it. eurethane would bend but bounce back more like rubber still leaving a knot from the bend. if abs didn't crack in half you'd be very lucky.

another thing is with eurethane you can kind of stretch it to make it fit perfectly snug. with abs plastic if it doesn't fit right it probably never will.

this is why I try to stay away from the $100 replica lips.

oh and about the stock wing being abs plastic...if thats true and its not fiberglass, its probably literally 10 times thicker than these kits.

trust me guys I've personally bought replicas, eurethane and oem. some abs kits may be good but in the long run its like rolling dice. I did find a groupbuy however that will let you send the piece back if it doesn't fit correctly at your expense.

no matter what its made out of though, if you smash into something its gonna need to be repaired.

Thanks for your responses, I also want to buy one of those lips off GBC. I've never had any experience with ABS plastic but I guess I'll give it a try. I had a replica CTR lip made of fiberglass and it cracked in 3 places so I'll never go back to fiberglass.
