Default Excellent engine break in article

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I was utterly amazed by this article. I've always broken in my motors the 'nice and easy' way, but the way this guy explains it, it really makes me doubt these methods. I will be getting my motor back shortly and testing this theory during my break-in phase.

Hope you guys get as much out of this as I did. The 'piston museum' was what reeled me in. h:

Dude, welcome to like three years ago. :fawk:

I've got a friend that has done the "nice and easy" and the method outlined in the article. After tearing down both motors, he said the "nice and easy" pistons, cylinders, etc. didn't look half as nice as the "drive it hard" components. He always does drives cars hard during break-ins now.

Definitely a good read on a controversial topic. I've read it before and will read it again. I will follow that procedure for my next car, engine, etc.
