reuse oil filter a problem?
i just changed my oil but totally forgot to change the filter after draining the oil first..so how bad is it to reuse a filter for an extra 3k?..am i fine or will it affect the car alot?
let the car sit and let the oil drain back into the oilpan. remove just the oil filter and put in a new filter. you may lose some oil not much at all.
just replace the filter
just replace the filter

I really would change the filter, seriously. All filter are designed with a pressure valve that open when the filter media is loaded up with crap. When that valve opens, the engine oil will bypass the filter media entirely. :eek3: Granted, it's necessary to ensure consistent lubrication, but it also means you have removed any protection afforded by the filter. And buying a new filter later won't undo that damage to your engine. Unless you are truly dead flat-broke (as in buy a filter or buy food), buy a quality filter like a Mobil-1 or Hastings™ brand filter and change the filter in conjunction with the oil.
Your car deserves it.
