I really would change the filter, seriously. All filter are designed with a pressure valve that open when the filter media is loaded up with crap. When that valve opens, the engine oil will bypass the filter media entirely. :eek3: Granted, it's necessary to ensure consistent lubrication, but it also means you have removed any protection afforded by the filter. And buying a new filter later won't undo that damage to your engine. Unless you are truly dead flat-broke (as in buy a filter or buy food), buy a quality filter like a Mobil-1 or Hastings™ brand filter and change the filter in conjunction with the oil.
