I can't tell the difference in the two models performance wise. I have a sedan GSR and am quite happy with it. It really boils down to your choice of style IMO, some think the 2 doors are sportier looking, some think the Sedans look better. Its up to you. If you know you want to get a 4 door car, then a Sedan GSR would be a nice choice. The weight difference is somewhere to the tune of 100lbs or so, isnt really going to make much of an impact for street/daily driving.
As far as the JDM conversion. I dont have any personal experience with it yet, but have seen pics of sedens with JDM front ends, so I know its possible. As I understand it, all the front end parts are interchangable between the 2 and 4 door models. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you read up and do searches on this sight, www.teamintegra.net and www.honda-tech.com, you can find a huge ammount of information on the jdm front end conversion. It's not as hard as you might think, you just have to commit yourself to it. Skelly_gsr did it on his 95 and the hardest part seemed to be wiring the headlights. If you can understand directions well, know how to use tools and somewhat know how to work on a honda, you can do it. Im gonna say yes as far as the conversion fitting on both the 2-dr and 4-dr

DB & DC Integras (Sedan and Coupe, respectively) are both great machines. I think the lines on both sedans and coupes have their own unique elegance. Structurally, the issues for the JDM front end are similar - or so I've heard- nothing too troublesome...
Drivetrain-wise, I'd recommend doing a compression check before commiting, I also am picky about maintenance records on all car purchases - I want to see documentation of the scheduled maintenance. The B-series motors are damned strong and provided the scheduled maintenance is done, they should run beautifully for a long time. If you wind up finding a GSR sedan - not too many were sold - then pay attention to the solenoid and cam seals and the VTEC system in general, just as one would with any DOHC engine. Again, the key to a long lasting motor is keeping up on maintenance.
I'd also use CarFax to verify mileage and title status. The rest of my advice is the general old saws of used-car buying, so I'll spare you.

Good luck in your search.
