so, i guess thursday is the enrollment date for our 401K. i don't know anything about them. should i enroll? if so, what do i need to be aware of?

 

i would do it if i were you. the earlier you enroll, the more money you will have. especially since right now stocks havent been doing so hot, in the future, most likely you will have quite a bit of money cuz eventually stocks will go up. my enrollment at where i am right now starts the beginning of next month...i chose to defer 9% of my paycheck to 401k. a good thing to do is put as much as you can, but not too much so you cant buy stuff still, heh

 

oh ya...and you should probably do a mix of small, mid and large cap funds. if you really want to be safe pick 1 bond. but i think at this point in your life...since you're still young, stocks are probably going to make you more money

 

ya do it but make sure you're the one in control of it not the company.. they usually tend to be "lets buy this for no reason" On the other hand you have to keep track of the market if you do it yourself.
