Default loud pop/"thunk" when braking hard

hey guys, when i brake real hard or real fast, sometimes my car makes a lound "thunk" sound from the front of the car. could it be my lower ball joint? if so what is the solution to fixing the problem?

na man, your engine is slamming against something...j/k, best remedy...dont break so hard? wtf are you doing?

try checking the cv boots too.

yeah, my roommate in college's car had problems with CV joints, and it used to make a loud thump when he would turn hard or brake hard.

What about a kind of repeated thump as you drive in a straight line? Sort of a clicky ratlly thing. Didnt start til after I got my alignment. Now my brakes squeal agan too. Fraid my lugs got overtorqued and my brand nw rotors warped already.

You should take it back to the shop that did your alignment...if they screwed something up, they should be responsible for paying for it.
