All Accessory Shutting Off
Ok here's the deal
I have a sony head unit and at first i had to stock speakers hooked up to the front and i had 2 subs on the back with a 500w amp. It all worked good. Then I installed a viper hv210 keyless entry and starter kill. That all worked fine also. The I put 2 rear speakers in and every now and then the head unit, my clock, my interior light, and the lighter socket would shut off and then come back on and i would lose the time on my clock and my settings on my headunit etc....then yesterday I installed new front and rear speakers and a new 1200w amp. Now the amp and subs work fine but when i turn the volume up on my stereo now everything shuts off sometimes for a couple seconds and then sometimes until i turn the car on and off again. I'm gonna check all the my connections again and solder themand check with voltmeter but
MY QUESTION IS why are all the electronics in my car shutting off because of my head unit. Would having the positive and negative wires on speakers switched cause this?? Or is my Viper messing with my accessory switch?? I don't think any fuses are blown and if they were I don't know why it would come back on.
Any Thoughts/Tips/Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brett JC

tough to say - reversing the phase on your speakers won't cause this at all.
I'd check the connections and check the fuses - I'd just replace the fuses even if they look good - sometimes they go bad and you can't tell.

Maybe your ignition switch
I had kinda the same problem in a accord i used to have. Car would start and everything, but blower motor would not work, stereo, and other stuff. I replaced the ignition switch and it fixed everything.
I figured it out by jiggling the key around in the ignition and sometimes all my stuff would work and then it would stop.
Maybe try jiggling the key, if your stuff works then get an ignition switch.

Same thing happens to me. After I had my viper alarm w/ keyless entry installed, every now and then my headunit ( kenwood ) would shut off for a few seconds and turn back on. I don't lose my clock and presets tho, so it doesn't bother me too much. I have two Jensen rear speakers powered by a 300 watt amp and 2 12's with a 1000 watt amp.
