is this engine worth $6500? i found it at some junkyard... but don't know if it is worth it for the complete swap.

 

6500 for everything including ECU, tranny, axles? or just the motor?


Either case, it is wayyyy to much. The only thing going for it is the age of the motor. B18C5 complete changeovers average about $4500 to $5000 nowadays.

 

well... HAP is the one quoting me this price... it has 15K miles on it... and it's for the whole kit. don't know if it includes shipping or not.

 

you can get the motor brand new for that price w/ 0 miles on it. you can get it from honda for around $7000

that's true... but since i have a 2000 ex.. isn't it illegal to install an engine that is not yr 2000 and up? i live in cali... so don't know if it is true or not... i remember reading it somewhere in the police hand book or something of that sort.

 

yeah its illegal but i wouldnt care.....and brand new means this year or posibly last year engines...nothing has changed on them

 

true... but i just don't wanna end up getting pulled over for some BS reasons like... oh that engine is not suppose to be in there and get a fix it ticket... that's what i regret buying a 2000 ex... should've bought a used civic... sigh~ oh well... gotta keep searching...

California has strict laws. You get caught, you pay the price.


The engine has to be same year or newer and have all sensors in working order.
