Default Fuel management question

Has anyone heard of or used the Unichip made by Dastek?

I know its a piggyback system but I can get a really good deal on the system through a shop I work with, and according to the mechanic (and friend) that the results will be the same as true stand alones that would cost me twice as much.

I am looking for dyno results and personal experience with this system if possible.

Yeah I contacted the rep through email about getting dyno charts and definite results for the product so I am hoping to hear back from them soon. They are located here in Portland now so I asked him if they would be interested in a little product placement on my car in exchange for a discount and possible sponsorship...who knows it may or may not happen, not too worried either way.

piggyback units are NEVER and can never be as fast or accurate as ecu replacements. all piggybacks work on the concept of altering the output signals from the ecu, so their abilities are limited by the ecu's capabilities.

Do they have a website or somewhere with more information about their product? I've never heard of them before?

if you just want a piggy back unit, get a greddy emanage, the full setup with all the optional harnesses, it will give you full control over injector pulse width, and igintion timing with, 16x16 maps, and easy to understand interface a child can tune it. I've played with it and on an obd1 p13, it works pretty well.

We've had a client who ran a unichip piggy back. The only drawback with this system is that you can't change rev limits. It acts like an SAFC or VAFC I guess.

Is this the same or similar "unichip" that a lot of the WRX guys run?
