Default am I paranoid, or retarded (oil starvation?)

does it matter that my oil light always comes on when I corner hard? Will a baffled oil pan be worth my while when I build up the new motor (race car, so heavy cornering loads will be the norm)? I really don't know shit about this oil stuff... enlighten me.

I really have no idea being I do not auto X but I do know its not good for the oil light to come on......So it would seem like to me a baffled oil pan would be a good idea to keep the motor from starving for oil. :dunno: I know they use them in other forms of racing to prevent this.

I know a lot of guys who go to track days frequently and dont need them. Is your oil just low? If you think you still need one then look at the moroso. It is baffled and helps keep the temp down.

nah, oils fine :dunno: moroso is pretty much the only one i've heard of, but its not very cheap. I just wanna make sure I don't damage my engine after I go through all the trouble of building it up.

If you are that concerned about it, you could add a dry sump and solve all your problems.

What kind of corners are you talking about? Like just going around regular corners hard? It could be that you have a bad/plugged sender that's tripping the light when you drop below 30 PSI? (I'm pulling that figure out of my ass)

I don't have money for a dry sump setup, although Peterson Fluid Systems is in my neck of the woods (here in Denver metro area)...

Happens whenever the car is cornering hard w/ a lot of grip. Sometimes on the street, usually during autocrosses.

I have considered that it could be something electrical... just something wrong with the light, but I don't really know how to verify that. Hell, in my buddies '89 Si, the dome light comes on whenever he makes a hard right  :chuckles:

A sender is not that expensive or hard to try to see if it fixes the problem. :dunno: Just an idea... It's a $20 part from Honda and about a $10-$15 part from an auto store.
