Default should I swap

I have a 92 civic 4-door that has a full kit, rims and new paint. But I need a faster car. so do you think it would be better to do a swap to a b16a in this car or look into getting another car that already has the motor. keep in mind this is a 12 year old car. :awais:

Get a used D-series to swap in and boost it. It'll be a bolt-in affair and the turbo kit will cost less than $3500 for EVERYTHING you need, to include getting it tuned. It'll also be faster than that [lame] stock B-series swap you'll have end the end.

BUT - if you plan on dropping some major cash into the motor at a later time, skip the B16 and shoot for the B18 - either with or w/o VTEC. Then boost THAT one. VTEC doesn't matter when you're boosted.

I digress..

I already have a 98 SOHC VTEC in it, but it is an automatic and its to slow. If I put a manual in it I might as well put a better motor in it. I look to spend about $5,000 on the swap.

Who told you you can't use the auto tranny? It'll hold over 200hp.

Sleeper has some good info. A boosted Dseries will beat up a stock Bseries motor and it's cheaper (even with the turbo on it). h:
