Default Venom 400 Anyone have it or had it?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has used it the venom 400. Is it as good as having your ecu chipped? Anyone can tell me I would appreciate it.

I think chips are dumb. How can they know what all you have done and work well with every combination of mods? They can't.

The Hondata is programmable so you can change settings based on how your car is running.

My buddy was telling me about a book he just bought. Something like the Honda Tuning Handbook (or something like that). The author challenged ALL chip manufacturers to come to his shop and produce their claimed HP results on his dyno. Said he'd drop them $1000 if they could; if they couldn't, he gets $1000 and they pay for the dyno time. He hasn't had any takers. h:

NonProgrammable chips are whack.

this is very true, and it is in a book called "high-performance honda builders book" vol. 1, Joe pettitt. This guy knows what he is talking about, he tested a dinan chip for a gs-r and only gained 1.5 hp on his dyno and that 1.5 hp is actually after redline and is only a function of rpm so he says. the mid-range torque goes to the stock chip. He actually tuned in 5 hp on the stock chip so the stock setup was faster then the dinan setup. un programmable chips are absolutely phony in all aspects of the field.

I had it on my 1993 Civic Ex. Waste of money. Didn't do anything for my car except use more gas. What it does is just richen the fuel mixture, but that just chokes the engine more. And then your bumper gets covered in more carbon.

That's the one.

Thanks for adding to what I was saying.
