Default clock problem

i recently noticed that my clock was resetting itself so i did a search and found that i should replace the "back up" fuse 7.5 so i did that. now the clock works but it stays on even after i turn off the car. i was pretty sure that i had gotten the right fuse, i know it was 7.5, the same color, and the little squiggly metal line looked the same, and it was in the "japanese car" fuse replacement set. is there anything that i might have missed? any ideas on how to fix it?

if ur backup fuse was blown.. then clock wouldn't even work... which is also tied into ur headunit power... check those wires to see ur not shorting anything......

something isn't relaying correctly to turn the sheit off.

it shouldnt have anything to do with the fuse at all. Maybe you tried messing with it before you replaced the fuse? I'd check to make sure there isn't a short in the wires or something cause that's odd, never heard of something like that

I believe the 7.5 amp fuse you're referring to also controlls your ECU so you really couldn't even start your car with it blown. h:

Also, did you wire the clock up yourself? I ask because you shouldn't have had to do anything. The OEM harness already has the clock wired in, even in the models that didn't come with the clock. It should have just been plug and play.

Need more info... it must be something you wired in or you wired it wrong...

hih

i didn't wire anything but a while back my strereo got jacked. i taped up all the wires but maybe that has something to do with it. if it wasn't the fuse then why would it stop resetting itself after i replaced it? any ideas on what other areas or what wires that i should look at specifically? tia

odd... the only 7.5 amp fuse under the hood is for the radio/clock/ECU. If it was bad, the ECU wouldn't work; therefore, the motor wouldn't run...
