I believe the 7.5 amp fuse you're referring to also controlls your ECU so you really couldn't even start your car with it blown.

Also, did you wire the clock up yourself? I ask because you shouldn't have had to do anything. The OEM harness already has the clock wired in, even in the models that didn't come with the clock. It should have just been plug and play.
Need more info... it must be something you wired in or you wired it wrong...
